When my son was four months old, I searched everywhere for a bow tie his size. I couldn’t find many, if any at all, in local stores and even ran into some dead ends online. Those I did find were slim pickings! So, being an avid sewer, I decided to make one. I’ve produced them in fun colors and patterns ever since!
Many of my customers love polka dots. Still others like to pair solid color bow ties with plaid shirts. Everyone is different! I enjoy providing them with a great selection that allows them to accessorize the adorable little men in their lives. There are, after all, so many accessories for girls. But not nearly enough for our darling sons!
Most of my bow ties are made from cotton prints, but I also make lovely felt and sateen bow ties. Some of my favorites are made from up-cycled men’s ties I have collected or found at local secondhand shops. I have also made bow ties from inspired global prints (like African fabric from Kenya!).
It really is a lot of fun and such a joy to see photos of little boys sporting their dapper J. Laurel bow ties.
Coming up…matching ties for Daddy!! 🙂
